SUNDAY LONG RUN

It was a tough week. Training has been mentally and physically tiring as i start to pay attention to my pacing. 4:15/k pace over 42km is really not easy feat. I am not sure if i am ready to nail it this DEC. 6weeks to go. Ideally, i am only left of 4 weeks of quality training before i taper for the last 2weeks. I need to set my priority to session that is marathon specific.

Today's long run has been a pain in the ass. Not sure if it is due to the crab feast that i had yesterday night. I only ate 1 pincer and 1 leg and 2 mantou. I eat quite litte actually. but the smokers from other table are blowing like free.. They freakking 1 stick after the other, i really feel like stuffing 20 sticks into their mouth and light them up. Damn inconsiderate.

I am very sensitive to cigarette and i feel very heavy at my heart/lungs area. I think somehow affected my long run this morning. Part of the run was at marathon pace and i feel so tough. The sun was so hot and my heart and lung is burning. The final segment of the run was at fast pace over 7km which is the toughest. I struggle to complete.

I need to keep myself healthy and fresh so i can nail those quality session.. that boils down to nutrients , proper rest, and of cause time management. Most importantly stay injury free. Got to step back a few days to get my body right.

I am so tired now, and i decided to pang seh the team at coach place. Really feel drained...

GOOD NIGINT! in the monring .. going to snooze for a while before i head for lunch zzz

YES 933

19 OCT 2010, a very special day. Cause its' my birthday! hahaha celebrated with my parents last sunday at Thai Express, the avacado milk shake is really good, rich, yet smooth and so fragrant..

Oh so wats so special on 19 OCT? FIrstly, i am flooded with love from my friends on FB, poly's frens, UNi frens, Let'sTalk 2 Classmate, RUN LONG RUN STRONG runners, and many more. Then, i was selected to going on air on YES 933 to talk about the day's topic on bully. Everything was so coincident. Lucky i nvr review to DJ, KUN HUA that its my birthday.. else i will be very paiseh if they sing me a birthday song.. hahahha..

Since i am going down to cadecott, i decide to do a workout at CCAB. Initial plan was to do with Jason but was cancelled due to rain and also Sia got caught up in office with work, so i jus do a simple 30min farkletk to get in the leg speed that i lack due to marathon trainigng.. rewarded myself with 1x teh tarik and 1x teh halia.

Then head down to YESS933 with anticipation. hahhaa first time on air and its on my birthday day.. cool... Here's a pic of us :

SO FUN! Next time when people say i no life, everyday only study and run, i can tell them

" at least i got on TV and radio station before "

and if i manage to go under 3 hours this dec

" have u ever run a marathon in 3hours? i tink u only shake shake on the dance floor for 3hours and get drunk "

Everyone has their own intepretation of ' get a life ' , to some people, study is their life, for others maybe clubbing and drinking is their life and because of this, we have different kind of people int he society which is essential to make up the community.

Imagine if every one club and drink to get a life, wil there be professor? is education possible, if nobody make running their life, will PASSION RUN stil be possible, Stand chartered Marathon still be possible? We need different kind of people, so we need to appreciate them. (:

CHEERS!

2 MONTHS TO SINGAPORE MARATHON

2 months left to Singapore Marathon. Training has been good. Clocked a few solid long run and some speed work to get in the leg turn over. Motivation and anticipation level is high.

I remembered my very first marathon was in year 2007 when i only clocked a maximum of 10k during training. I was very daring to challenge the distance with such low milege under my belt. I crossed the line with a time of 4hour 25min.

Now with proper training and conditioning, i hope to do a good time. I feel that running is more exciting than studies. In school, result is expected. For example, circuit follows ohms law, voltage equals current * resistance. BUt in running, there is no formula to result. You have to trial and error with different training methods to find the suitable one.

Few more long runs before D-day. Hope everyone is doing well in training. Most importantly is to stay injury free and be healthy! Fitness come naturally with health. Remember when you train hard, your body needs to recover well. Get in proper nutrition and adequate amount of sleep. Be stress free and you never have to worry about performance. GOOD LUCK!
